There’s less than a week left to visit a powerful and uplifting art exhibition supporting Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity, at Colchester Hospital.

Showcasing a diverse collection of pieces from talented artist, Claire Vaughan, the exhibition celebrates creativity, resilience and the healing power of art. Every piece on display helps raise vital funds to support patients diagnosed and living with cancer.

Whether you’re an art lover or simply looking for something meaningful to do, this is your last opportunity to explore the exhibition and make a difference.

Claire shared, "Art allows me to express, process and make sense of my life and experiences. My practice is rooted in freedom of expression and continues to be shaped through my ongoing personal development. Creativity remains an important and valued part of how I reflect and continue to grow through psychotherapy. My work unfolds intuitively through colour, texture and movement in the moment. I choose not to title my pieces, so each person can discover their own meaning and connection within them. I love how different people see different things in the work, sometimes even when viewed in different orientations. This can open space for self-reflection as well as conversation and communication between us.

"Through mental health recovery, I joined a group called Art in the Community, which gently led me back into shared creative spaces and to exhibiting in the hospital gallery. I was later honoured to contribute artwork to an NHS charity-funded project supporting patients receiving end-of-life care.

"This exhibition is held in loving memory of my dear friend Debs, whose nurturing love and positivity continue to be carried forward in this work. If a piece resonates with you, you are very welcome to take it home in exchange for a donation. All proceeds from the exhibition support the Cancer Wellbeing Centre in Colchester."
