Family firm buys lifesaving equipment for Ipswich Hospitals Woolverstone Wing A portable Electrocardiogram (ECG) Monitor, designed to monitor and measure electrical impulses of the heart, has been placed in Ipswich Hospitals Woolverstone Wing thanks to the generosity of a local business. Whip Street Motors Ltd, which is a regular supporter of Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity, has donated £2,900 for an extra ECG monitor for use in the Woolverstone Wing, which is the hospital’s oncology unit. The equipment will help staff to identify heart attacks, irregular heartbeats and side effects of treatment. Charlie Baker, who is one of four brothers at the family firm, said: “The oncology unit is very close to our hearts as we have many friends and customers who have been treated there. “We are committed to helping the local community and like to regularly give to the hospital as we know the difference this makes.” Sandra Gosney, community fundraising manager for the charity, said: “We would like to thank Whip Street Motors Ltd for their continued support. “Having an additional ECG monitor is fantastic for our staff and will make a life-saving difference to patients and their friends and family.” More News Manage Cookie Preferences
