The Ipswich Colour Run has gone from strength to strength, with this year’s event selling out in advance and welcoming a record 500 participants to Christchurch Park on Saturday.
Families of all ages took on the colourful 1km, 2.5km and 5km routes while being showered in powder paint – all in support of Colchester & Ipswich
 Hospitals Charity.
Among the fundraisers was Kimberley King from Colchester, alongside friends Carl and Ginny who were raising funds in memory of their much-
loved friend, partner and sister, Heidi. Kimberly shared, “My best friend Heidi recently passed away from a rare form of liver cancer at the age of 30, just 3 weeks after her diagnosis, leaving behind her partner and two beautiful children.” Kimberly credits ESNEFT staff for their incredible care of Heidi and her family and friends at the end on her life, choosing to join the fundraiser to show their thanks and support for the hospitals by raising over £560.
Sandra Gosney, the charity’s community fundraising and events manager leading the event, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the support for our Colour Run. To sell out and welcome so many runners shows how much our community values their local NHS services and the difference they make.
“We would like to extend our thanks to everyone that supported us including the participants, suppliers, our sponsor Sodexo, and volunteers who made this event possible.  Their support and commitment has been truly inspiring. Together, they have made a significant difference to the lives of patients, and we are incredibly grateful for their generosity."
