Charity golf day raises £1,260 for Critical Care Units This June, the fourth Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity Golf Day took place at Frinton Golf Club, raising an impressive £1,260 in support of the Critical Care Units at Ipswich and Colchester Hospitals. Despite concerns over wet and windy weather, the weather conditions cleared up just in time for the 37 golfers to take on the course. Though wind speeds reached up to 20mph and rain made an occasional appearance, the group completed a challenging but enjoyable round. The day began with coffee and bacon rolls, followed by a team photo before tee-off at 11am. New for this year was a yellow ball challenge, which added a fun team twist to the competition. Six teams completed the round with their yellow ball still in play. The winning team scored 30 points, led by team captain Daniel Jeffrey. Colchester retained the ESNEFT Ryder Cup trophy, narrowly beating Ipswich with a combined score of 89 to 85. The day ended with refreshments and prize-giving which included the ever popular raffle with prizes ranging from golf fittings to spa days and beer cases. Thank you to everyone who took part and supported the event. Your generosity will help us continue improving care for patients, families and staff across our hospitals. Together, an incredible £1,260 was raised for ESNEFT Critical Care Units. Manage Cookie Preferences
