Hundreds of fundraisers gathered at Christchurch Park on Saturday morning to help raise funds for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity. Colour Runners

The sun shone down on Ipswich as around 400 people took part in the charity’s brand new Colour Run, where participants completed 1km and 5km routes whilst being showered in coloured powder paint. The event has so far raised over £27,600 for a number of good causes across East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

Amongst the runners was “thankful” 44 year old Emma Everett and her 17 year old daughter Kacie Everett, who were participating in recognition of the care Emma received from Ipswich Hospitals Ear Nose and Throat department after her Thyroid Diagnosis in July 2023.

Their fundraising efforts, currently standing at over £700, will help take care of patients and staff at ESNEFT and provide extras that go above and beyond what the NHS can provide.

Emma said, “I really wanted to do the Colour Run because the staff were amazing, everyone I came into contact with was just brilliant. My Runners throwing powder paint into the airconsultant Dr Billy Wong was amazing. He took very good care of me and was extremely attentive. I feel really lucky it was discovered early.”

Joining the event was Daniel Dickson, OCS CEO, UK & Ireland, “We've thoroughly enjoyed this fantastic event and are proud as a local business to sponsor the charity and have lots of our teamColour Runners taking part and volunteering. Already looking forward to next year.”
