Emergency Department leader, Ben Page, takes on London Marathon to support patient care Ben Page, general manager for Emergency Medicine across East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT), is preparing to take on the London Marathon this month to raise funds for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity. Working at the heart of one of the busiest hospital departments, Ben sees first-hand the dedication, resilience and compassion shown by NHS staff every day. Now, he is stepping outside of the hospital and onto the streets of London to give something back to the teams he works alongside. Ben is fundraising to support areas that enhance both patient care and staff wellbeing, helping to ensure frontline teams have the extras that go above and beyond, to enhance patient care. “I see every day just how hard our teams work, often in incredibly challenging circumstances. Running the marathon is my way of supporting them and recognising everything they do for our patients and our community.” Fundraising through this challenge allows him to support not only frontline services, but also the wellbeing, development and innovation that help hospital teams perform at their best. Fundraising Manager Sandra Gosney said, “We’re incredibly grateful to Ben for taking on this challenge alongside such a demanding role within the Emergency Department. He sees first-hand the pressures our NHS teams face, and his support will help us continue to fund projects that make a real difference to both patients and staff. We wish him the very best of luck on marathon day and will be behind him every step of the way.” By supporting Ben’s marathon challenge, donations will help fund vital projects that go above and beyond NHS provision, improving environments, equipment and wellbeing initiatives for both patients and staff.
