This spring, in partnership with the RHS Community Outreach team, we ran an online workshop for staff and volunteers across ESNEFT, offering simple gardening and nature craft activities designed to boost wellbeing and strengthen team connections.

This free session gave teams the chance to take a break from the work environment and engage in something completely different. Planting seeds and getting out in the sunshine, the teams who took part were able to bring a little green therapy into their work day.

One team who got involved in this workshop was the Immunology team at Ipswich Hospital. Melissa Arries, advanced biomedical scientist, shared:

These activities are more than just a fun diversion, they offer staff a mindful moment to reconnect, rest and recharge. Taking a short break from routine to do something hands-on and creative can significantly improve mood and reduce stress.

At Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals charity, we are proud to support wellbeing activities that help our colleagues thrive at work and beyond. To see what other workshops are happening throughout the year, visit our gardening workshops page.
